Unfortunately, it is common in Thailand to study in an MBA program directly after graduating from a BBA program with no job experience due to unemployment after graduation. This is not well regarded among international companies since it provides students merely with a degree paper, but not with the understanding and skills a potential employer might expect.
To apply for a particular program, please contact the university directly. Procedures and requirements differ slightly and are subject to change. We can provide you with a certified translation of your transcripts in English or Thai. Both languages are accepted at Thai universities, but we recommend translation into English - you can later use the certified copy for other purposes outside Thailand.
We are often asked 'which is the best business school in Thailand?'. Simple question, simple answer: It depends upon the criteria you apply. Even with the best criteria catalogue, the result might be unsatisfying - eventually, you'll study for an MBA to give your career a boost. For us, employability is the major criterion. In terms of employability, our subjective impression is that there are two graduate business schools on top of the list: SOM School of Management at AIT and Sasin Graduate Institute at Chulalongkorn University, both experiencing well-known international companies queuing up to get one of their graduates. Beneath them, there is a huge gap, and then comes the rest. But as we said, it's our subjective impression. Ask their alumni what jobs they got and you may understand how we came to that impression. We have no serious statistical data from independent sources, however. So again, it remains a subjective impression, but this is the answer we give when asked directly. For reasons of honesty and transparency, we think this answer should be made public here. There are certainly also some MBA program and business school rankings available, for example the Asia MBA Ranking of Best MBA Programs Directory or Business School Ranking 2009 Eduniversal (MBA ranking - the deans' votes for the best MBA in Thailand)
A praxis tip: Since the most intense learning occurs within communities of practice, we recommend to check the particular program of your choice thoroughly, especially if you expect a kick-start of your career after graduation: The more inexperienced Bachelor graduates attend your course, the less intense is your learning experience. Don't forget to check the background of your lecturers as well: Are they merely teaching the same stuff for years, or do they have relevant practical experience in the field they teach?
