Although nobody knows the exact time in history when drifting began; we do know that it happened in Thailand about 2000.
Like a lot of the racing forms you see these days, the high-powered adrenaline rush of drifting today has evolved from what was once an illegal form of racing.
In history drift usually took place on curving mountain roads which were referred to as touge (pronounced toe-geh). Touge was taken on by some really dedicated enthusiasts which were known as the rolling zoku whose main goals were to lower there times from point A to B.
But in Thailand, you shouldn't do it on public streets, and from Bangkok, the way to the mountains is simply too long. That's why they have a car racing field call BRC. The BRC is located behind Seacon Square, the huge shopping mall at Srinakharin road.
Usually, they have a competition every Sunday. Registeration fee is 1,500 Bath. For one car (and for your repairing periods) you have around two hours. Oh - and don't forget to bring your car (and a repair kit, of course)!
